Jamia Millia Islamia was established in Aligarh on 29 October 1920 under the presidency of Mahmud Hasan Deobandi. It was established mainly in response to the demand of some students of the Aligarh Muslim University for a new National Muslim University which would be free from government influence as they felt that the administration of Aligarh Muslim University was of pro-British stance.



Jamia Girls Senior Secondary School functioning with classes IX to XII in the month of August 2008 with the objective of imparting higher education to the minority community girls and it is gratifying to note that since its inception , the school has very well served this objective. The girl whose education was discontinued after eight standard just for the reason that the parents were apprehensive in sending their girl child to a co-educating school have found a place for fulfilling their dreams of educating their daughter .Being an exclusively girls school they can easily move around in school.This school is catering largely to those girls who are the potential learners from weaker section of society.
